Guru Rachna Sarang is a veteran Kathak exponent, teacher, and choreographer.  She was trained in Kathak by great maestros such as Pandit Sundarprashad, Pandit Lachhu Maharaj, and renowned Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj, and in Bharatnatyam by Guru Kalyan Sundaramji, Raja Rajeshwari Institute. Her style of Abhinaya retains the nuanced, delicate, and intimate style of traditional Kathak. It is deep, moving, and dramatic, and mostly influenced by Pt. Lachu Maharaj, the doyen of abhinaya in the Lucknow School of Kathak, and by Guru Kalyan Sundaramji. She has developed her own unique style of choreography this is as delicate as it is dynamic. She is the founder and Artistic Director of the Sarang Academy of Performing Arts based in New Jersey and has been performing, teaching, choreographing for the last 40 years.

SAPA- Sarang Academy of Performing Arts, Sapa Inc. was incorporated as a non-profit organization in May 2003. The purpose of the academy is to teach Indian classical dance forms as an artistic heritage deeply rooted in its cultural context, yet evolving in contemporary society. SAPA would also like to promote upcoming talent from other schools and provide a stage for young artists in Indian classical and folk dances from India and the tri-state area, USA. it seeks to organize performances, workshops, lectures by local and visiting artists at various art and educational organizations to increase an understanding of Indian art and culture. SAPA also conducts Kathak and Bharatnatyam classes and folk dance workshops.

Madhurita Sarang– a shining star whose aura spreads the cultural horizon. She will live on.

Born to Dr. and Mrs. Annapurna Sarang, the younger sibling of Rachna Sarnagm Guru Madhurita Sarang learned the great art from all the three schools of Kathak under great maestros, Late Pandit Shanker Prasadji, Late Lachu Maharaj, Late Pandit Chaube Maharaj and Padmavibhushan Pandit Birju Maharaj. Apart from Kathak, she was also trained in the rigors of Bharatnatyam. Her gurus being Late Shri Chandra Sekhar Pillai, and Guru Kalyanasundaram of the Bharat Natya Kala Mandir, Mumbai. Both shined as the Sarang Sisters. She went on to establish the dance school, Nritya Darshan in Mumbai.
